Carry-on luggage

Regulations for the size and weight of your luggage may vary depending on your airline. Some airlines also have different regulations depending on destination, departure place and plane tickets.

Therefore, it is important to check which regulations apply to your airline or travel agency.

Liquids

Containers

All liquids must be in containers (glasses, boxes, tubes etc.) that do not exceed more than 100 ml.

Liquids

It is important to note that certain chemicals like toothpaste, moisturiser, make-up, gel and spray are also considered liquids without considering if it is measured in ml or grams.

Plastic bag

You may have more than one container with liquids so long as they all fit into one plastic bag that does not exceed 1 litre. The bag must be able to seal properly, and all passengers may only bring one bag each.

Security

When you are going through security, the bag of liquids must be taken out of the hand luggage and placed visibly in the tray so that the security staff can easily spot it.

Exceptions for liquids over 100ml

Baby food/beverages and diets

You are permitted to have more than 100 ml of baby food or beverages and dietary foods if they are essential for the journey.

Tax-Free goods

Liquids over 100 ml, which have been purchased in the Tax-Free store at the airport, may be brought on the aircraft. However, these may required to remain in a sealed bag with a visible receipt.

Security

All liquids, baby foods, and dietary supplements must be taken out of the hand luggage and placed on the trays so that they are easily visible to the security staff.

Medications and exeptions

Liquids over 100 ml

Liquid medications (gels, sprays etc.) are exempt from the regulations on regular liquids, and therefore you are permitted to have more than 100 ml of these in your hand luggage.

Cooling systems

If your medication requires a cooling system, you are permitted to bring this with you.

Syringes and needles

Syringes and needles, required for medication, are exempt from regular limitations and are permitted in hand luggage.

Security

You must be able to prove the need for and the validity of the medications and all added fixtures.

Checking in hand luggage

Certain airlines offer the possibility of checking in hand luggage for free. This can occur especially when the flight is fully booked and there is limited space in the overhead compartments. Checking in hand luggage can make your journey easier.
