Widerøe is Norway´s oldest airline with around 3500 employees. The group includes several subsidiaries, such as Widerøe´s Flyveselskap AS, Widerøe Ground Handling AS, Widerøe Property AS and Widerøe Asset AS. Widerøe AS is a subsidiary of the Norwegian Group. 

This makes Widerøe the largest regional airline in Scandinavia, offering direct connections from Bergen to 49 different destinations in Norway and Europe.

The partnership between Vágar Airport and Widerøe began in the summer of 2021 with regular scheduled flights between Vágar and Bergen. For this route, Widerøe uses Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft, which carry 78 passengers, and the flight time is approximately one hour and forty-five minutes.
