More passengers - fewer departures over February

6,8% passenger increase for February

For February of 2007, a total of 10.324 passengers arrived and departed through Vagar Airport. This is 6,8% more compared to February of last year, when the corresponding figure stood at 9.664. This is the first time ever that passenger figures exceeded the ten thousand mark for the month of February. Simultaneously, this is the first time ever that passenger numbers exceed to ten thousand mark for every month of the year. For February, it is only the scheduled routes to Denmark, which have recorded increase while the routes to Norway, Iceland and Great Britain all have sustained considerable decrease in passenger numbers.

Over February there were 329 flight departure and arrival operations. This is 6,6% less compared to February of last year, when 353 flight operations were recorded at the airport.

To date this year, a total of 23.062 passengers have come through the airport. This represents an increase of 10,5%, compared to the corresponding period for last year.
683 aircraft have arrived and departed through the airport to date. This is 8,3% less compared to the corresponding period last year, when 745 aircraft came and departed through the airport.

Airmail for February of 2007, is 19,7% less compared to February of 2006, while other airfreight has recorded an increase of 39,8% compared to February of last year.
