Chief airline pilot departing

Mr Hans Hansen has exceeded 3.300 landings at Vagar Airport.

On the 22nd. of March 2006, Mr Hans Hansen became 65 years old and has to retire as an active airline pilot from Atlantic Airways, due to the age limit. Exactly eighteen years ago, he was onboard the first aircraft of the newly established airline company Atlantic Airways, which landed at Vagar Airport.

Mr Hansen was twenty-five years old when he in 1966 went to Norway, where he educated himself as an aviation pilot.

Since Atlantic Airways began operating a route to the Faroes, Mr Hansen has amassed approximated 15.000 flying hours and has surpassed 3.300 landing operations at Vagar Airport.
