6,1% fewer passengers over the first six months

Over the first six months, a total of 85.945 passengers have arrived and departed through the airport

For the month of June, a total of 20.349 passengers came through Vagar Airport. This is 1,8% less compared to June of last year, when 20.731 passengers came through the airport. Routes to Denmark recorded a decrease of 1,7%, while increases have been recorded on routes to Norway with 11,4% to Iceland by 2,3% and to Great Britain with 3,7%.

Over the first six months, a total of 85.945 passengers came through the airport. This is 6,1% less compared to the first six months of 2009, when the corresponding figure stood at 91.542. Decreases have been recorded on routes to Denmark with 7,7% and with 15,1% on routes to Great Britain, while an increase of 57,3% has been recorded on the routes to Norway. For the first six months, passenger numbers on the routes to Iceland remain unchanged compared to last year’s figures.

Over the month of June, 466 aircraft arrived and departed. This is 4,5% less compared to June of last year, when 488 aircraft arrived and departed through the airport.

For the first six months of 2010, a total of 2.118 aircraft have arrived and departed through the airport. This is 3,6% less compared to the first six months of 2009, when 2.197 aircraft arrived and departed through the airport.

For the first six months of 2010, the total amount of airfreight lifted was down by 9,2% – from 341,3 tons down to 310 tons.
