13,9% more passengers for September

For the first three quarters of 2010, 157.287 passengers arrived and departed through Vagar Airport

For the month of September, a total of 17.571 passengers have come through the airport. This is 13,9% more, compared to the same month last year, when the corresponding figure stood at 15.428.

There have been fewer passengers on the scheduled routes to Iceland and on the domestic helicopter service, while all the other scheduled routes have experienced an increase in passenger numbers. This growth was particularly noticeable on routes to Norway and Great Britain and this is due to an exploration drilling currently in progress in Faroe waters.

Over the first nine months of 2010, a total of 157.287 passengers have come through the airport. This is 2,3% less compared to the same period last year, when the corresponding figure was 160.908.

For September a total of 497 aircraft arrived and departed. This is 20% more compared to the same month last year, when 414 aircraft arrived and departed through the airport.

Increases have been recorded in scheduled routes, charter flights and offshore activities.

Over the first nine months, a total of 3.820 aircraft arrived and departed. This is 2,4% more compared to the same period last year, when 3.730 aircraft arrived and departed through the airport.
